So too is your personal crisis communication strategy.
It’s hard to see any good in the world right now. Everywhere you turn there is talk of the global pandemic that is COVID-19 (the coronavirus).
However I am certain that from all this adversity great new things will emerge – innovation, medical breakthroughs and new and amazing use of technology. I’m sure there will be many more wonderful benefits even though they stretch the bounds of my imagination.
COVID-19 reminds us that disaster strikes when you least expect it. When you are least prepared. When you are at your most vulnerable.
It’s also an excellent reminder that the better prepared you are the greater your chances of survival – the more focused and positive you remain and the better you are able to serve yourself, your family and your community. This is true in every sphere of human endeavor.
Communication in times of crisis – regardless of its nature or cause – is one of the key pillars of a robust personal defense strategy.
Ask yourself, if you needed help right now:
- Who would you call?
- Will they answer?
- What will they do?
If you don’t know the answer to these questions I humbly submit that you haven’t given it enough thought.
That your planning is deficient.
Your preparation inadequate.

The harsher the lesson the more profound the learning.
The great news is that you can be better prepared, today!
Candidly, the fact that you have read this far has already better prepared you – even if only by causing you to contemplate the questions and consider their answers. Nevertheless it would be better if you turned idle thoughts into positive action.

We have been blessed by lessons from the ages, handed down from Grandparent to Parent to Child, yet wisdom seems lost, just like common sense is no longer common.
Planning ahead is invaluable. I simply cannot stress it enough.
